A Disney Guide! °o°

Hello fellow Mouseketeers!

If you and your family are planning on taking a trip to Disneyland then you've come to the right place. I will give you to low downs of the do's and the "don't even think about it."
Lets begin!

Alright, so you've planned out what day(s) you're planning on going to the park and you may or may not have booked a hotel room is needed. GREAT START! Now, before you locally drive down to Anaheim or you're coming from out of town, I will help you determine what is safe, smart and pocket friendly. As you can already tell from the big dent in your wallet, Disneyland costs a ton of the green stuff and that's even before you've walked through the park gates. Geez. Here are my tips to be a little economically smart.

Helpful Tips:
  • Bringing your own water and LOTS of it. You can carry a backpack, store it in a stroller carrier(if you have one) have your boyfriend carry it(LOL) or of you need more room, rent out a locker!
  • Bring snacks from home that will not perish very easily. Granola bars, dry cereal, fruit snacks, fruit, chips etc.
    • Try to stay away from dairy products as milk and cheese can go funky pretty easily, especially waiting in lines in the sun. Egh.
  • Sunblock...all over and yes, your lips burn too!

  • Don't make the mistake I once did and went out to buy cute minnie mouse shoes JUST for this disney trip and I ended up going home early with a bunch of blisters from my toes to my heel! Wear well broken in shoes with proper socks. Ladies, a shoe that has a bit of a heel/wedge will be the most comfortable to walk in or if you're not that type of girl lol you can wear running/walking/exercise shoes. Personally, I can go from rocking TOMS to combat boots just fine. It all depends on how well they're broken in and how many times you've worn them. ALSO!!! If you don't mind going back to the car or renting out a locker, bring an extra pair of shoes and socks. When I have a full day at disneyland, I will wear sandals, flats, moccasins and later on go back to the car and change into warmer shoes(it's kinda chilly at night here in Anaheim) and I'm set. No achy feet!
    • Converse aka Chucks are NOT the proper shoes nor Vans. They're WAY too flat and will hurt your feet within 3-4 hours being there, I promise!

  • If you're a big phone/camera user, bring a charger for "Just in Case" scenarios. There are plenty of secret outlets that guests can use to charge their electronics. The most popular ones are located close to Space Mountain. The first one is RIGHT outside the photo viewing area of Space Mountain, look to your right if you're walking towards the picture viewing, look left of you're exiting the ride! The next one is the outlet in the "outdoor" eating area of Pizza Port(location where you can sit underneath the overhead Space Mountain walkways and right across from Captain EO, the outlet will be right next to the only door out there and that is labelled "Cast Members Only."

  • If you're a frequent restroom user then it is smart to plan accordingly. You can find a park map at the main gate entrance or many other kiosks that will label restroom locations all over the park. If you're in line for a ride and nature calls, whip out the map and determine if you can hold it for the remainder of the ride or (if the line is long and slow enough) venture out on a solo mission to the potty! But, make sure someone in your party holds your spot for you. It is EXTREMELY annoying and tiresome if you have to walk all over searching for a bathroom and bouncing across FantasyLand to Frontier Land and back for a potty break.
  • Lastly, whether you're taking a lunch/dinner/snack break or just want to pop a squat because you're tired.... ELEVATE YOUR FEET. I promise you, you'll thank me later. Whether you're just sitting for a few minutes, elevating your feet while you rest severely takes the pressure off your heels and feet and lets the circulation catch up. You're on your feet for so long and by the end of the night you'll start to notice your legs and feet are starting to get tight, that's because the blood is pulling downwards(thank gravity for that) and is "stuck" in your legs. Elevating will temporarily relieve some stiffness(or in my case, I swell) and jog the "stuck" pressure/blood to rise upwards and out of your swollen little tootsies!

I really hope that my "guide" was somewhat helpful!
I am a local that has her paws on a 365 day annual pass and I have plenty more to share with you guys so stay tuned!
