Royal Rose Hydrating Serum - A Review!
Hello My Lovelies,
I was given the opportunity by Valentia to review this product for you guys since my reviews in the past have done so well! I was referred to retrieve this product from their Amazon Merchant account. You can check out the serum + all it's details on Amazon by clicking here.
This time around I'm delving into the behind the scenes, behind the makeup products and focusing on the prep and prime actions.
Valentia sent me their Royal Rose Hydrating Serum, that is meant for sensitive skin, which is perfect for me! It is a light weight consistency and does not feel greasy or heavy on skin. The packaging claims:

Valentia sent me their Royal Rose Hydrating Serum, that is meant for sensitive skin, which is perfect for me! It is a light weight consistency and does not feel greasy or heavy on skin. The packaging claims:
This Hydrating & Nourishing Serum Will:
- Deeply moisturize skin
- Provide antioxidant protection
- Soothe & nourish dry skin
- Smooth skin tone & texture
- Boost skin radiance
And, I have to say, I completely agree with all of that. It is SUPER moisturizing on the skin and I don't know about you ladies, but throughout the day and wear of foundation on my skin, the area around my nose tends to crack as well as my laugh lines. They become more visible! Although I did moisturize with my standard face cream, This serum actually combated that! I noticed that at work, I didn't see the usual and typical cracking around my nose and smile lines and I think it has to do with this product.
Also, I'm a big scent person, if a product has a scent that lingers, it bothers me. I don't like scented moisturizers or foundations so upon trying this product, the scent itself is rather pleasant. Sweet, light rosy smell. Perfect. I was a little weary of it bothering me throughout the day but to my avail, it wasn't lingering at all! I almost completely forgot I had put it on. That's a big plus for me but that may be a con for those who like lingering scents. I rather enjoyed it.
One thing that I did appreciate is the days that I went "bare-face" or no makeup, my skin looked dewy, glowy and youthful! I really liked this product all on it's own and I noticed that this combined with my makeup/foundation was a perfect match! I was not shiny, I was not oily, it didn't make my makeup slide off which was wonderful! By no means am I saying this is a primer but I noticed that this didn't have a negative take nor extremely positive take on my makeup routine.
Lastly, I'm an exfoliator. St. Ives and I are like sisters. I scrub my face until I'm raw(slightly exaggerating) but I love the clean feeling I get when I scrub my face. The Valentia Rose serum soothed my skin! Typically, a lot of moisturizers have an insane amount of alcohol in it causing my skin to *ever so slightly* sting and burn a little. I went into this thinking that the serum would be the exact same. Rubbed the serum in my hands, placed it all over my face and waited...nothing. No burn and no stinging! This isn't really a big deal for me but it was a nice attribute that I observed.
I've only been using this product for a couple of days and I already really enjoy it. I'm excited to keep using it and seeing what other benefits I've taken note of.
